So tell me what kind of food is everyone feeding their cats? Myself I was recommended by the vet to use Hill's TD dry food which I did and my cat absolutely loves. The problem is it's only available at the vet and I can't always get there on their hours so it has happened that I've bought other dry food in the past but the cat didn't like it or developed a urinary tract infection with it which caused a whole lot of other problems.

I feed my two Purina Cat Indoor Formula *dry* I don't feed them any canned food as I was feeding them canned food when I first got them, Mick would finish his and then try to eat Percy's too

Hey stargazerschild my friend's dog likes to come and eat the wet cat food too. I supplement with wet food even if it wasn't recommended by the vet because wet food apparently causes tooth decay but I just found the cat wasn't getting enough with the dry.

My one cat has very few teeth so has great difficulty eating the dry food, he tries but only sucks them a bit and then spits out :)

Just lately both cats have got really fussy, I have to keep changing the make, at the moment they are on Whiskers pouches ...only with jelly and no fish.

My two have never been fussy, just greedy.  And my big orange cat has a plastic fetish.  Will chew on/carry around ANYTHING plastic--bubble wrap, drink cup lids, candy bar wrappers, ice cream bar wrappers.  He's taken to trying to fish them out of the garbage now, so I'm probably going to have to get garbage cans with lids.

calliope, what happened with the cat's teeth?

he was  stray that we took in and not in very good health, the vet said he had a very bad jaw infection which he'd had for a while and had affected his teeth, so removed 11 and stuffed him with antibiotics.  then a year later he was hit by a car and lost a few more.  The poor thing he's had a really rough time, he hasn't many of his 9 lives left, a nasty dog took one when he got hold of him and shook him like a rag doll, leaving him ripped up and cat flu took another of his 9.

For all the bad things he's had happen he's so affectionate, we all love him to bits and spoil him rotten :)

Ouch that's quite a story.  Obviously a real survivor on your hands.  The cat's blessed to have found you.

anybody have an idea on how to put one cat on a diet while not putting the other cat on a diet?  My 17 pound cat needs to lose 3 pounds and will NOT self-regulate on food, while the 10 1/2 pound cat does not need to lose weight (and does self-regulate with food)

I use Avoderm for my cats.

They do not use wheat gluten, rice gluten, or rice protein concentrate in any of their dry or canned dog or cat foods. All of which are not good for cats or dogs. I'm not sure whether they test on animals or not. I'm hoping they don't.
